Marketers Cruise 2011 Recap

I’ve got a video to share with you from this year’s IM Success Cruise (also known as Mike Filsaime’s Marketer’s Cruise). But first, here’s a few tips and lessons that I picked up from the mastermind sessions and the informal brainstorms on the beaches, in the ship’s jacuzzi, and on a sailboat.

2011 is going to be the year of the webinar. Already, we’re seeing more and more of these, but I was convinced by in-depth conversations with David Frey, Joel Peterson, and a few others that bringing my teaching from teleseminars to webinars would be highly beneficial to you and me. It’s also a good idea for you to be sharing your business solutions and strategies through webinars to your clients. David’s got an upcoming series on using webinars profitably.

Fighting Goliath. A lot of business owners are feeling trapped providing real value to their customers at fair prices while many of the same customers are buying “easy button” solutions from competitors that flat out don’t work.

Launch fatigue. Customers and affiliate partners are increasingly burned out from extended launches every other week. Relationships matter most. No surprise here, but those that genuinely care about the success of their customers and clients with their products are positioned to benefit the most from the year ahead. While the recession continues, people truly want to trust who they buy from, not just the reverse.

Facebook and LinkedIn are outpacing Twitter. With the connective tissues built in to Facebook and LinkedIn, active users and entrepreneurs are getting more out of these social networks. Twitter is still important, but it’s pulling in the Bronze at this point.

What I loved most about this year’s cruise was getting to know so many high level, ambitious entrepreneurs like me in a fun, no-pitch environment. There’s just something about mixing a lot of vacation with a little bit of work to make 6 and 7-figure connections.

Next year, the IM Success Cruise visits the ports of Panama, Cozumel (Mexico), and Costa Rica. Imagine zip-lining your way through a rainforest, followed by a less-than-random conversation that turns your business around!

Now on to the video, which contains a few pics from the different islands and catches a glimpse of the variety of fun to be had on the cruise.

p.s. I’ve already booked for 2012, and I encourage you to be part of the IM Success Cruise next year. The best balcony cabins go early, and refundable deposits to reserve your cabin are lowest the earlier you book. Go to IMSuccessCruise.com for the full scoop and to book your cabin on the 2012 marketer’s cruise.

p.p.s. Unlike other “theme” cruises, there is no extra seminar fee for the IM Success Cruise. Even still, you get to be part of 4 mastermind/training sessions (optional), networking events onboard, and enjoy a vacation with over 400+ like-minded entrepreneurs and our significant others and family.
